Roll on the Romance even in your Senior Years

Devote a day to each other.
It's easy to comlain that our partner's aren't the romantic type but ask yourself, what romantic gesture have you made recently?

We are all guilty of taking our loved ones and relationships for granted so next weekend, take a romantic stand and plan a deliciously long and romantic day together. It could be a surprise or you may want to tease them for the week with a secret destination!

The Beach

It could be Bournemouth, Bogna, or Blackpool but wherever it is, when the sun is shining any stretch of coast has a romantic flavour, particularly if you splash through the surf during the quieter moments of sunset and sunrise. Take a picnic or enjoy some shellfish from a sea-view restaurant.

The Countryside
If it isn't the coast it has to be a romantic lazy drive through the open golden countryside. Be impulsive, take a map as insurance, but just drive until you find somewhere to walk through corn fields alone, hand in hand. Pack a romantic picnic or find a secluded country pub for lunch.

The Cinema
Who said the backrow was the sole domain of teenagers!? Remember the days when you were first courting? Take your loved one to a late night screening at the cinema so that the teenagers are safely tucked up in their poster lined bedrooms, and sit in the back row. Check the British Film Institute's website for screenings of older films in case 'your' film is currently being replayed. Alternatively, rent a film you saw at the cinema together when you were first dating and spend a romantic night in with a take away.

An Activity
Try a completely new activity together. It could be something energetic such as absailing, paint-balling, rally driving or quad biking, or something more sedentary like a pottery or painting class, or a weekend at a cookery school. Whatever it is, book it up before hand and make sure it's a surprise!

At Home
If you want to stay in the comfort of your own home, cook a special meal together and go through the old box of photographs that's been collecting dust in the loft. Laughing and reminiscing over the old days is bound to put some romance in the air.
